The Midwife for Israel
This will become part of the canon or text for understand the creation of the state. It is well written and a gripping read. My only quibble is that I believe that Ben Gurion had a better sense of people that Shapira grants him. I say this as a psychoanalyst. The way in which he described one colleague was passive aggressive behavior to a "T" and this is behavior that few can see. Despite this quibble it is a book not to be missed.
