Superb evolutionary psychology text - informative, engaging, and accessible.
This is an outstanding textbook. I've been reading every new edition of this text since it was in its 2nd edition many years ago, and it keeps getting better with every iteration. It's been my personal choice for pleasure, for recommending evolutionary psychology texts to others, and for teaching university courses. It's one of the few textbooks I've ever come across - along with John Alcock's excellent Animal Behavior - that can be read solely for pleasure. The writing is engaging, the material is fascinating, and even when the ideas are conceptually challenging, the treatment is thoroughly accessible. I re-read this book every time I'm gearing up to teach a course in evolutionary psychology, plus a few times for fun or as a refresher. It feels like I'm learning something new every time I read it, and it's always a fun and engaging read.
