Being a hockey fan and one of the tough guys I was so exited to read this book and it delivered beyond my wildest imagination. So much attention has been given to Willie O'Ree and rightfully so but James's story is virtually unknown till now. Even if you are not a hockey fan you will enjoy this book as to be an African American breaking into a virtually all white sport especially back then is a truly amazing story that needed to be told. The author John Gallagher who wrote an amazing book called Pipe Dreams about his time as a beat cop in NYC brings his great storytelling to James's life and journey that all whether a hockey fan or not will really enjoy.
