One eye always on the past.
This was my first time reading Lou Berney, but I'll definitely be going back to read his earlier stuff now. No matter which character we were following, the writing was sharp and the reactions believable. Oklahoma City made for a nice backdrop, and for a town really known only for the bombing, the tragedies Berney creates are every bit scary. Do yourself a favor and get lost in THE LONG AND FARAWAY GONE. The main characters already have.
