Didn't like the hero and much of the action is too over the top.

While in Las Vegas, woman is swept off her feet by handsome ex-cop from Alaska—then gets pregnant. He invites her to visit in Alaska and she goes in order to decide whether she might want more from him. While she’s there, he gets involved in an investigation of the Russian mafia and there are lots of chases and shoot-outs and the like.
I wanted to like this. I liked the previous novel about his brother Dylan. Martin does keep up the suspense. I couldn’t like it, however, despite the fact that I managed to finish it because, as I say, she does keep up the suspense. I spent a lot of time rolling my eyes however.
What I didn’t like.
Hero. I could not like him. I like a lot of alpha male heroes (eg, Kristen Ashley’s) but this one, not so much. Some examples of what I found off-putting: He decides he is attracted to her because she isn’t into sports or athletic activities but is a stay-at-home kind of...
