A beautiful work of art.
A beautifully done book, similar to the previous 4 of the same nature. This one covers a broad swath of the 3rd movie, and much of the design process for many aspects with in the movie. How characters were conceived, and then how they grew through the back and forth with Jackson and then finally made it into the movie. Such as Blog, and how he was radically changed when they decided to go fully digital with him.
Lots on the design of the dwarves and the other 'Armies'. Beautiful art work and intricate design that can sometimes be missed due to it only being on the big screen for a second or two.
One of the stronger books of the series. So far they've done 2 per movie and this is the first of the final movie. It's stronger than a few of the others. A very nice book.
I hope they do one more, so each movie will get the two book treatment. It'd be weird if there are 2 for the first, 2 for the second then only one for the third.
